Remove wax from your burner:

Take a few cotton wool balls and place in the well of your burner while the wax is still in liquid state but not too hot, let the cotton balls soak up all the excess oil and then wipe clean with a cloth.

Wax on your furniture/carpet:

If you ever have the misfortune of getting spilt wax on carpets and furniture don't just scrape at ut as you could run the risk of damaging them. Instead put a few ice cubes in a bag, place on top of the wax for a few minutes until it hardens and it'll be much easier to pick off
